PACE Center for Girls: The Success of Love That Dress 6!

Author: Valerie Baker

You’ve seen us blogging quite a bit about the PACE Center for Girls’ Love That Dress! event and we’re pleased to report that it was a huge success! In getting to know the PACE Center for Girls in Lee County, we’ve learned so much about the effect that this organization has on women all over Southwest Florida. From the board of directors to the volunteers and the PACE girls themselves, it’s clear that the PACE Center is an organization on a mission to change lives. From what we witnessed at the Love That Dress! event in Estero, they are succeeding.

From the moment we entered the event, it seemed that there was no detail that went unnoticed. After a warm welcome from the amazingly friendly PACE volunteers, we headed to the most important room of the event: the dress, shoes, and accessory room. The sheer amount of dresses was amazing – from bridal gowns to formalwear to summer dresses (which, for us in SWFL, means year-round dresses), there were so many options for all kinds of tastes. It’s important for me to note that the picture on the right does not do the event any justice – what you see there is the silent auction and the entryway to the room of dresses, accessories, and shoes (it was much to busy to get a good picture of the room itself, which is a good thing!). Additionally, each item was priced in such a way that would never make you question the thought of buying – and it was all for a great cause!

Shopping the Love That Dress! Collection

In case you weren’t able to make it to the PACE Love That Dress event, you will still be able to shop any excess inventory at the Hope Chest Resale Store in North Fort Myers. With the thousands of dresses we saw, there are sure to be great pieces left (and at a great price!). Proceeds from the purchase of items in the Love That Dress! Collection will be split between the PACE Center for Girls and Hope Hospice.

How You Can Help the PACE Center in Lee County

While Love That Dress! was a huge success, the PACE Center for Girls in Lee County is always looking for support from the community. If you’re interested in contributing to the PACE Center, there are so many different ways to do so!

  • Volunteering
  • Donating
  • Attending Events

We can’t wait for Love That Dress! 7 and we know that if even a fraction of the people involved with this year’s event are involved with next year’s, it’s sure to be a great success.
