Goals
Create a logo for a new company and brand Create a website to match Provide ongoing support and consultingThe Daily Artisan contacted Atilus after the formation of their new business. The owner, Susan, knew that to bring her creative ideas and projects to life, she’d need to commission the help of a local web design and development company. After learning more about the company’s goals and objectives, we made a series of recommendations in order to achieve the goals as noted above.
Designing the Logo
The Daily Artisan was a new company and brand and to create a website, we first began with a logo design and color palette. Our team worked very closely with Susan to bring her logo design to life. A majority of the design was created by Susan, and our team helped put the finishing touches on it to make it usable on the web.
Using inspiration from her creative projects, Susan also had an idea about the color palette she wanted to use and like the logo, our team helped put the finishing touches on it to translate it to web.
Creating the Website Plan
Next was the website plan. In any website project, we take several factors into account, including budget, functionality, design, and long-term maintenance.
After learning more about The Daily Artisan’s goals and objectives, we presented a sitemap that we thought would give all of the creative projects to life. The website’s main focus was a daily blog, and as such, that became the homepage. We also suggested separate sections for other key parts of the website: the photo galleries and online store.
Building the Website
After all of the creative items were defined, we set forth on building the website. We use a WordPress template to accomplish the overall look/feel and our team made customizations to key pieces of functionality, including the online store and photo galleries.
Support & Maintenance and Social Media
The website redesign was only phase I of our undertaking. The second phase of the project was to provide the following:
- Website updates
- Consulting
- Social media management
- Technical SEO
