Atilus has been blessed time and again with opportunities to work with many non-profit organizations around the world. One of our biggest blessings has come in the form of a long-term relationship with Possible Dreams International. Through this relationship, Atilus has worked on multiple iterations of the website and been a part of the team that has helped grow this organization to the world-renowned status it holds today.
Possible Dreams International, Inc. (PDI) is a non-profit organization which partners with rural and remote communities in Swaziland, Southern Africa to empower families and individuals living with extreme poverty, malnutrition and endemic disease. Their members come from diverse social, ethnic and religious backgrounds, and are spread throughout the world. United in the belief of the dignity of every human life, Possible Dreams International works in 32 remote and rural areas of Swaziland, the country that has the highest prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the world and at least 10% of the population orphaned children under the age of 15.
Being that this was not the initial website for the organization, the team at PDI had a clear goal for success. The website needed to: 1) communicate the work that is being done in Swaziland, 2) show people how they can help from wherever they may be located, and 3) provide easy calls to action for donations and purchases. To accomplish those goals, Atilus put their efforts into a uniquely custom design that would draw focus on the faces of the people in Swaziland. By helping the internet public establish a relationship with the faces they see online, PDI felt it would break walls of defense and get more people motivated to act. Based on multiple conversations with their team, target research and our own experience in non-profit development, we provided the following solutions:
- Custom Website
- Content Management System (WordPress)
- Search Engine Optimization
- Online Donation Integration
- Email Marketing System Integration
- Social Media Integration
- External Shopping Cart Integration
The biggest challenge to the creation of the new website was really sifting through the mass number of stories they can tell. Organizing a large volume of content isn’t easy, but it is vital in helping to swiftly guide interested visitors through the navigation. Giving space (in a clear, outlined way) to all of the faces in the stories and all the different projects going on was paramount, which is why we focused the call to action buttons in the header and utilized multiple headings and sub-headings in the age navigation as well as the blog. This allows PDI to keep their content organized and yet stay scalable as the site (and non-profit) continue to grow.
“Atilus has been an absolute pleasure to work with. They have been understanding, reliable and incredibly approachable. They have also demonstrated excellence in the web based products which they have delivered for our organization. In so doing they have assisted us to raise awareness and funds for those who are sick and suffering in Sub-Saharan Africa. We are deeply grateful for their assistance.”
Dr. Maithri Goonetilleke, Executive Director, Possible Dreams International
Now that the website is live, the combined team of Atilus and Possible Dreams will diligently follow the data provided through website analytics so we can evaluate (both in the short and long term) website performance and make adjustments and find solutions where necessary. Atilus is thankful and excited to continue on the journey with Possible Dreams International as this growing website becomes a benchmark for international non-profit website success.
